Referral service only

OLN is a paid lead-referral platform. We collect homeowner project requests through our network of trade-specific websites and forward each request to one matched local contractor. Contractors pay OLN a referral fee per accepted lead. Homeowners pay nothing.

We are not a general contractor, trade contractor, broker, or agent. We do not bid on, supervise, perform, subcontract, or warrant any work performed by any contractor referred through our service.

Contractor independence

Every contractor in the OLN network is an independent business operating under its own legal entity, insurance, licensing, and trade qualifications. Contractors are not employees, agents, partners, joint venturers, or representatives of OLN.

OLN screens contractors at signup — verifying that each one has attested to carrying $2M commercial general liability insurance, WSIB coverage where applicable, and all required Ontario trade licenses. This screening is an administrative check, not a professional warranty. OLN does not independently verify, certify, audit, or guarantee any contractor's credentials, licensing status, insurance currency, workmanship, safety practices, financial solvency, or any other aspect of their business.

Before authorizing any work, homeowners are responsible for: requesting a written quote, obtaining proof of current insurance, verifying trade licensing through the relevant Ontario regulator, signing a written contract directly with the contractor, and resolving any dispute with the contractor directly.

No warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, OLN makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding:

• The qualifications, licensing, insurance, workmanship, safety, timeliness, or solvency of any contractor
• The completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, or currency of any information on this website, including pricing ranges, service-area maps, regulation summaries, and timing guidance
• Project outcomes, customer-service quality, or post-completion warranty performance by any contractor
• The availability of contractors for any specific project, trade, or geographic area at any specific time

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, OLN — together with its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents — shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages (including lost profits, lost data, project delays, property damage, personal injury, or third-party claims) arising out of or related to:

• Your use of, or inability to use, this website or our referral service
• Any contractor's acts, omissions, workmanship, breach of contract, negligence, or business failure
• Any reliance you place on information published on this website
• Any dispute between a homeowner and a contractor referred through this service

"Exclusive" defined

References on this website to "exclusive" leads mean that each submitted homeowner request is routed to one contractor only. This is a per-lead exclusivity guarantee. It does not grant any contractor exclusive territorial rights, exclusive trade rights, or any form of franchise or distributorship.

Governing law
